The client

Offering a relaxing retreat with a picture-perfect waterfront location, The Spinnaker Hotel is a quaint nine-bedroom property situated on the outskirts of Glasgow. Customers have praised the hotel for its delicious food and warm hospitality.

In order to focus on managing the popular accommodation, bar and restaurant, Stewart McCartney, owner of the family-run hotel, required a reliable and multi-functional EPoS system.

Stewart said: “Our previous EPoS system was not functioning fully and was not worth repairing. We reached out to ICR Scotland as they supply modern systems with great functionalities. They also offered a professional demonstration of how to use the software on our site, which was a great help for all staff and enabled us to start using the new systems straight away.”

Our Solution – The Perfect System for Small and Medium-sized Hotels

Our Solution – The Perfect System for Small and Medium-sized Hotels One of the most important requirements of the hotel was the ability of any new EPoS System to fully integrate with their iBex Property Management System. A Property Management System (PMS) is a software application used by most hotels to handle room reservations, availability and occupancy management.

Our solution was to install ICRTouch TouchPoint, which has the ability to interface with most leading PMS Systems currently on the market. This allows staff to electronically post guests’ food and drink charges from the bar or restaurant directly onto their room accounts stored on the PMS.
This process relieves the worry of forgetting to add charges before guests check out or worse, the possibility of charges being mislaid, as the hotel staff no longer need to rely on printed receipts and manual postings.

A further benefit to the hotel was the introduction of kitchen order printers, which not only facilitate faster food ordering, but also ensure that nothing leaves the kitchen without having first been charged on the till. As waiting staff can now input cooking instructions and menu choices at the point of ordering, there are no more illegible handwritten orders and a significant improvement in the workflow of the kitchen.
With the introduction of ICRTouch TouchOffice WEB, our Cloud-based back-office management package, Stewart can now access reports and manage the system remotely with ease from any internet-connected device. Sales figures are uploaded in real-time which, in addition to a wide range of reporting, stock keeping and product management options, provides simplicity and convenience when managing the business.

Stewart said: “There are many benefits to the new EPoS systems such as the professional appearance, remote access, large range of programmed price buttons, loyalty card options and sales analysis functions. The high-quality software and reliable support of the ICR Scotland team has added critical value to our business.”
